President and Founder of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), Mr. Valasquez speaks of his experiences in a labor camp while visiting North Carolina during the summer of 2008. He discusses the challenges faced by tobacco field workers as it relates to accessing health care, suffering nicotine poisoning and dealing with heat stroke.
