Description

The Lake Erie 2017 Waterkeeper Conference focused on Western and Central Basin Lake Erie Watersheds. We know from 2016 that if there is little rain from late winter to early summer, Lake Erie is blue with little harmful algae. It is clear that runoff and discharges from the watersheds when there are heavy rains result in harmful algae. What do we know about the watersheds and the sources and amounts coming from the land and pipes causing the algae? How are the watersheds reducing nutrients? Other Lake Erie related information was discussed at the conference.

Robert Summers spoke at W.W. Knight Preserve.
