The University of Toledo College of Law Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series presented Marc Kantrowitz. Associate Justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court, Historian, and Author Old Whiskey and Young Women: Tales of Once Famous Cases Now Nearly Forgotten “Murder and mystery, society, sex and suspense were combined in this case in such a manner as to intrigue and captivate the public fancy to a degree perhaps unparalleled in recent annals.”

Justice Kantrowitz, who handled two dozen first-degree murder cases before joining the bench, explored some of the most notorious cases in American history, including Ohio v. Sheppard. What these cases have in common is that they titillated, if not repulsed, the entire nation when they occurred. And today, all are nearly totally forgotten. Justice Kantrowitz, a prolific author, brings them to life in this lecture.
