Description
There exists considerable evidence for the existence of invisible mass in the universe: dark matter. This hypothesis rests on the assumption that gravity behaves the same on galactic scales as it does on solar system scales. An alternative hypothesis is that we need to modify the law of gravity. Stacy McGaugh discussed some of the pros and cons of both of these radical hypotheses.
