Defending dangerous reading was part of the American Library Association’s Banned Books Week. The University of Toledo celebrated the 22nd anniversary of the Banned Book movement with several speakers.
Holly Hey, Theatre and Film, with Allyson Day, Disabilities Studies, spoke on “ Silience = Death.”
The American Library Association (ALA) promotes the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one's opinions even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those viewpoints to all who wish to read them.
