Salvation in no other Name
Description
Run Time: 45:04
Lakeside had three leaders in the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths as speakers for the Interfaith Week. David C. Aune, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Religion at Ashland University spoke about the Christian perspective. Aune holds a Ph.D. degree from Brown University, a M.Th. degree from Regent College in Vancouver, Canada and a M.Div degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusttes.
Dr. David Aune lecture was "Salvation in No Other Name." Anyone involved in inter-religious dialogue needs to contend with claims in Christianity regarding salvation as being in Christ alone. How can we learn from one another if, "There is no name (other than Jesus) by which we must be saved?" The seminar examined exclusivist claims in a social and historical context and provided some alternative viewpoints that still remain faithful to traditional Christian theology.
