Dr. Carlos Baptista, associate professor of neuroscience in the UT College of Medicine and Life Sciences, discussed the process he uses to preserve medical specimens through plastination. He explained how the process, developed by Dr. Gunther van Hagens, replaces water and fat tissue in specimens with polymers.
The presentation was held at the University of Toledo. Support for Knowledge Stream is provided, in part, by a generous gift from The Appold Family Charitable Trust.
