The Maumee River and Lake Erie: Beauty and the Beasts
Description
Run Time: 31:21
Steve Pollick, retired outdoors editor of The Blade, spoke on "The Beauty and the Beasts of the Maumee River and Lake Erie." The largest watershed on the Great Lakes drains into what may be the most valuable of the five big lakes, and it's all right here – the Maumee River and Lake Erie.
Steve spoke about the natural history, how we benefit from these great natural resources at our doorstep, and how we can enjoy them – if we can fend off threats like Asian carp and pea soup-like toxic algae.
The presentation was held at the Franciscan Center. It was part of Lourdes College's Lifelong Learning series.
