International Day of the Girl-Sophia Stone

October 11 marked the International Day of the Girl by the United Nations. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

This year Young Women of Toledo partnered with Toledo American Association of University Women (AAUW) to celebrate International Day of The Girls.

Sophia Stone spoke about her experience over the summer with Global Leadership Adventures, where she worked with children in Tanzania for a month.

The event was held at The University of Toledo.
