Description
Run Time: 13:52
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland hosted a walleye fishing event to highlight the promotion and protection of Lake Erie.
The Governor thanked all those present for their efforts to make the event a success, and for their continued commitment to the promotion and protection of Ohio’s natural resources. He went on to say that he is committed to protecting the Lake Erie tourism industry that supports over 114,000 jobs and is valued at over $10 billion a year. He thanked Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray for joining him in his work to protect Lake Erie. On July 8, Cordray and Governor Strickland sent a letter to President Obama, requesting him to seek immediate action to prevent the spread of “Asian” (bighead and silver) carps into the Great Lakes.
