The Toledo Museum of Art hosted the 47th Annual Conference of the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA). This year's theme was The Art of Seeing: From Ordinary to Extraordinary.
The International Visual Literacy Association is the oldest international, not-for-profit association of researchers, university and K12 educators, designers, media specialists, and artists dedicated to the study and practice of visual literacy.
Philip Yenawine is the author of Visual Thinking Strategies (2013), the former director of education of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and now director of Visual Understanding in Education. He spoke on “Empowering Museum Visitors.”
